Governess Cart (893375) **NEW ADVERT JULY 2021**
I offer this exceptional example of a Governess Cart for sale.
History - I acquired this cart in 1980 when it was in pretty poor shape. At that time I was faced with the choice of scrapping it or giving it a lot of TLC - I chose the latter and here's the result! By early 1986 I had had it carefully and professionally restored to the splendid condition that you see in the photos by Peter J Small Coachbuilder of Doddington near Lincoln. He told me that it dates from 1922 which I have no reason to doubt, but I have not been able to verify that. As for the original coachbuilder, the hub caps read "Mulliner Birmingham". It would be perfect for your family's governess (if your family still has one!) to take the children to church on Sundays!
Condition - The cart is in exceptional condition and indeed, I could call it literally 'immaculate' and/or 'perfect' were it not for a few very minor and easily repairable scratches and dings that it suffered in our last move. I am more than willing to give any interested party a video tour of the cart via FaceTime or WhatsApp video. I would wager that this is probably the finest example of a Governess Cart offered for sale in the UK today.
Location - The cart is available for viewing by appointment at its current location just outside Newark on Trent and is available for collection only (I can't deliver it!) upon payment by bank transfer or cash - I do not have a PayPal account.
