Under offer - Cab Fronted Gig ref (733847)
Under offer - Original Cab Fronted Gig suit approx.14-15.2hh ( See approximate dimensions below ). Built at Victoria Carriage Works Ltd. Long Acre, London before 1910. It was refurbished in the 1990s and then put away dry stored, and unused since then. This type of Gig is known to be very comfortable, and drives like a four-wheeler with no jolting, the shafts being attached to the body by springs ( like an handsome cab of Victorian London ), meaning a lower access, to make it easier for access. So when balanced correctly (the seat is movable to balance the Gig as it sits on runners ) it makes for a smooth ride. It is in tidy condition, and with some TLC could be brought up to top show standard, it as been wasted, not being used, some of the paint is in need of redoing for showing condition, due to being dry stored, but not a big job.
The approximate dimensions are ;
Height to tug stops on shafts when gig level is ; 43.5 Inches.
Height to highest point on top of shafts when gig level is ; 44.5 Inches.
Overall length of shafts ; 75.25 Inches.
Overall internal clearance length within shafts ; 73.5 Inches. Note, this is touching the metalwork, so Horse/Pony would need allowance for movement etc.
Narrowest point between shafts ( near front end ) ; 21.5 Inches.
Between shafts at Tug stops ; 23.5 Inches.
External length of Gig Body ( Tub) ; 62.0 inches.
It is priced to sell, as owner would rather see it being used, but no silly chancers please.
